The Sunset Beach Community Association (S.B.C.A.) is an organization whose purpose is to educate members of this unique beachside community as well as visitors to the area regarding aspects of the community. All residents of Sunset Beach are automatically members of the S.B.C.A. Our meetings are open to the public and provide information about Sunset Beach to everyone who may be interested in our community.
The S.B.C.A. is the voice of Sunset Beach and represents Sunset Beach issues and concerns to the City of Huntington Beach. Meetings are held as needed under the name of “Sunset Beach Area Council Committee”. They are free and open to the public and provide information about issues that impact Sunset Beach citizens.
The S.B.C.A. is governed by a Board of Directors composed of 7 members. All registered voters in Sunset Beach are eligible to vote for the Board of Directors. Two year terms for S.B.C.A. Directors are staggered with three Directors elected one year, and four Directors elected the following year. To be eligible to run for office, a candidate must be a resident of Sunset Beach and registered to vote in Sunset Beach.
S.B.C.A. meetings are held the first Thursday of every month from September thru June. The S.B.C.A. does not meet during the months of July & August. The Agenda for the upcoming meeting is posted on the local bulletin board in front of the Post Office.
